We try so hard to hold on to the things we think God wants for us. With clenched fists and whitened knuckles we suffocate the situations and the people that we hope He has set along our paths, but it’s not until we relax and let go that we realize that the true plans He has for us are greater than any plans we could ever wish for. We walk blindfolded down the road that He built just for us, but little do we know, all the while, He’s holding our hands and guiding us. We have the tendency to think we know better than the God who has already planned out every step of this Journey. We step to the left when He wants us to take a step to the right; we step backward when He wants us to step forward; we stand still when He wants us to walk in faith. So stop resisting and let God’s plans succeed your own.
If it were up to me, I definitely would not be where I am today, but by the grace of God, He has blessed me with a yearning passion to know Him. In light of Thanksgiving, that is what I am most thankful for. Without that desire, there is no eternal life and no reason for existence.
