The ability to serve is an often overlooked blessing. We hold on, so dearly, to the things of this world. We stingily cradle money in our pockets and reluctantly give up our time, but for what? Why are we so hesitant to give back to God and His people what He has so freely given to us? Sure, you can say you earned your money and your free time, but if you’re a child of God, you should very well know that those things are blessings rather than earnings.

God is the Ultimate Provider and we could never amount to His magnificence. This world tells us that we are right in being selfish but our Father tells us that we are wrong for doing so. He blesses us so that we may bless others. So with that in mind, be quick to serve. Realize how much of a gift serving is from God.

Our lives are only a blink of an eye compared to eternity, so when you’re standing face-to-face with God, waiting to know whether or not you’ll enter the gates of Heaven, will the Heavenly Father welcome you with open arms or will He deny you access because He never knew you?
