In light of the end of the year, I thought it’d be nice to reflect on what I’ve learned this past year.
This year has truly been a roller coaster of ups and downs. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried and I’ve cried some more but no matter how much my mood changed, no matter how much the people around me changed, and no matter how much my life changed, the one and only consistent part of my life this year has always been my God. He has been faithful in my unfaithfulness and held me tightly when I tried to push Him away. In this year, I realized that the end of the previous year does not foreshadow the upcoming one. It does not matter who you kiss on New Year’s Eve when the clock strikes 12 and it doesn’t matter how many resolutions you vow to keep but inevitably break. The only thing that matters—and the only thing that will ever matter—is our forever unchanging, everlasting, beautiful and faithful God. He promises great plans for those who love Him. So whether or not you’re happy with the outcome of this year, keep in mind that you will never be truly satisfied if you’re not walking in the Will of the Lord. But take heart! If you’re willing to let Him work in your life, God will surely execute the great plans He has for you this upcoming year :)
