Sometimes I wonder whether or not people are intentionally out to get me. I think to myself, “what kind of person (family of the faith in particular) would go out of his or her way to try to make me uncomfortable or jealous or annoyed?” But then God reminds me that I am not fighting against “flesh-and-blood enemies” (Ephesians 6:12) and that I must make allowance for faults (Colossians 3:13). It’s so easy to get consumed in agitation or anger when, to put it bluntly, some people are just flat out dumb in regards to their actions. But these are the moments. These are the moments in which we must choose not to indulge our evil desires (Romans 13: 13-14). These are the moments to love rather than hate. These are the moments to remember that God sacrificed His Son for us when we were still His enemies (Romans 5:10). These are the moments in which we should pour out the same grace and mercy to others that He has poured out to us.
